August 3, 2005 - Everyone has heard of the legendary Rucker Park. It is the most famous outlet for streetball in NYC. There are competitve games played throughout New York. In the Bronx, dunking, shooting and one-on-one goes on in the shadow of Yankee Stadium. The courts are literally on the other side of a chain link fence around the Yankee player's parking lot. Wonder what does on in Derek Jeter's mind as he sees some sick dunk after a game?

In Queens and Brooklyn, there are places where the basketball is year round and in the winter, people shovel the snow to play some hoop. Needless to say the competition is extremely fierce and the players take their trade seriously. Any number are involved in various streetball tours.

Coming out of NYC were two players who were total opposites. Chris "Skywalker" Lowery is just out of high school and has announced his presence on the streets with authority. "Black" Jack Ryan is in his mid-forties and has a long established name for himself as a shooter and handler of basketballs. To see more about Jack go to Hoopwizard.com. Both represented NYC well.
